Reading key
a, b, c… identify reading groups within a unit. They are not rankings.
Parentheses, such as (S), indicate partial agreement with that group. ∅ indicates absence in this comparison unit; “Not preserved” means the text is unavailable.
Primary denotes the preferred reading. Secondary readings derive from the indicated primary or literary group; their characterization describes the difference. Variant literary readings represent distinct literary forms. Not classified leaves their textual history open. Text in <angle brackets> marks a retroverted reading.
Evidence for a particular issue may be indeterminate (unable to resolve it), irrelevant (not bearing on it), or insufficient (too uncertain in preservation for confident citation). These are witness-level qualifications, not reading-group assessments.
M: Masoretic tradition · G: Greek · V: Vulgate · S: Syriac · T: Targum. Additional sigla identify local variants.
